Goa 2019

There a lot of Blogs about Goa,but this time when I really needed to plan something affordable for Goa I was really looking everywhere frantically. So here I have basically summed up good places to stay,visit,best beaches and a short guide for a North Goa trip.

Beaches in North Goa

  1. Miramar Beach- Situated at the distance of 3 km from the Panaji, a lovely and enchanting golden beach of soft sand covered with palm trees facing the blue Arabian Sea is the Miramar beach. This beach was originally popular as the ‘Gasper Dias Beach’ and it is the point where Mandovi River merges with the Arabian Sea.If you are visiting in and around Panaji, visiting the city and want to spend some dime and time in the casinos you can go here.I personally do not visit this beach a lot as its quite far away.img_6167
  2. Sinquerim Beach-This beach is a must visit for a swim. Just adjacent to fort Aguada and Taj Exotica Sinquerim.Clean sand and  super Blue water where the waves are not too high, I love this beach. There are numerous shacks on the beach and I personally prefer to spend whole days on this beach.Just along the stretch are the Vaddo beaches also and they all can be accessed from Candolim. Candolim Houses all the fun jazz outlets ,bars and pubs.You can stay around Candolim to visit these bars which have live music until midnight. Must visit Pubs: Fisherman’s Cove
  3. Calangute Beach-always crowded by  thousands in both peak and off-season, is one of the enchanting beaches in Goa. The beach is loaded with shacks and water sports vendors. I like to visit this place only at night.However keep in mind,this beach is not meant for walking barefoot.
  4. Baga-another favorite with the locals and tourists, is located about 30km from Panaji, and lies in close proximity to the Calangute Beach. In fact, you can walk and reach Baga from Calangute. This beach offers mesmeric views of sunsets and sunrise. The sand is clean and the water is blue.However, the main attraction of this place is some of the most famous clubs like Titos, Brittos and Mambos.During the evenings, the shacks here come to life with foot-tapping music, dance and a general scene of merrymaking. Besides partying and celebrating, this beach is also the hub for various adventure and water sports.
  5. Vagator and Ozran Beach- These beaches have tiny hillocks on the beaches,Ozran has a few shacks who play awesome trance and electronic music the whole day.Best places to take a tip and chill on the bath beds. At night there are clubs which play trance music the whole night until sunrise.

The list never ends. Rants go on. From ourselves to our self. We are never happy. That level of perfection. That photo shopped model on the magazine who has a perfect waist, a waif body, the perfect long hands,with the perfect manicured nails, and the perfectly blow dried hair.Even her toe-nails are so perfect.

Here is a small summary of what I try to do.

I weigh myself everyday in the morning.As its the perfect time to measure body weight. After every meal I have, after every visit I make to the bathroom, I keep on weighing as my weight fluctuates. I also have an inch-tape. To measure my wrist,arm,waist,neck,hips because I need to calculate my body fat percentage. The forever ongoing battle with the weighing scale.

I can’t skip a meal. That would affect my metabolism. 2 or 3 meals a day with Intermittent fasting carefully scheduled sometimes. I have to take care that my meal has sufficient nutrients. Just the perfect amount of fat, protein and carbs.

No excess carbs, no refined sugar, no refined white flour. No Aspartame. No this no that. I count calories. My FitBit motivates me to move. I google glycemic index of foods before consumption.

Sounds crazy and overwhelming right?

Is there an end to this? May be not. But I am perfectly fine with it.

My obsession with myself lies perfectly on the brim where on one side lies extreme neglect for myself,hogging on all the food I want. And on the other side is bulimia, starvation, a desire to start smoking to suppress hunger. Just on the brim, where I have to walk tip-toed balancing my work life, relationships and health of course. Recognising the right boundaries is very important. I don’t want to hate myself.I just need to be aware of my lifestyle and my regular habits. I know I can’t be that magazine perfect woman. Even after professional airbrushing and Photoshop.I just desire to be perfect version of myself.

Body shaming is a new term. And I don’t find much logic in it. Exceptions are medical conditions obviously, but I would like to be told and informed if I am not taking care of myself. I may to be too thin or too fat and a friend or a well wisher can frankly tell me to take better care of myself.

Self love and self criticism both are equally important. Its important to be aware of the fact that I cannot be like another person who I perceive to be perfect and also that I can work towards a better version of myself without harming myself. Balance is the key.
